Kaushambi - This place is associated with hindu epic Mahabhata. Also this place is associated with Buddhist religion. Lord Buddha is believed to have visited Kaushambi twice to deliver discourses. Here also you can get the ruins of ancient fort and remains of a monastery. Kaushambi is approx. 60 kms. From Allahabad.

Shringverpur – This is also an ancient place and realted to Hindu epic Ramayana. This was once the capital of the kingdom of Nishadraj (King of Boatmen). As per the legend Lord Rama stayed here for a night while going to the forest. Before steering Rama across the Ganga in his boat, his feet were washed by Nishadraj.

Allahabad is well connected by road and & rail from all the major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Varanasi , Lucknow. Nearest airport of Allahabad is Varanasi is approx. 150 km. From Varanasi this is approx. 03hrs. drive to Allahabad.

Fairs & Festivals : 

The Kumbh Mela ( fair ) is the main fair and festival of Allahabad. It is held once every three years. The Purna (complete) Kumbh mela, the biggest and the most auspicious fair, which falls once every twelve years. The Purna Kumbh is followed by the Ardh Kumbh in importance and this fair falls every six years. Millions of devout congregate at Allahabad on the banks of the holy river during these Kumbh mela for gaining spiritual salvation and contentment.
